I was lucky to get into Hebei University in 1978 (Class of 77) after working for the 19th Institute (now called 54th Institute) of the Ministry of Electronics Industry for a year as a worker making PCBs manually. I went back to the 19th Institute after graduating from Hebei University as an interpreter/translator. I worked mainly on the technology transfers and technical trainings for International Maritime Satellite Communication systems and PBX. In 1986, I immigrated to the United States working as an office clerk until I was admitted to University of California, Hastings School of the Law in 1989. In May 1995, I started my own law practice focusing on corporate, business and immigration. We work hard to provide quality services to mostly Chinese community and have built a very reputable practice. Our clients include Konka (U.S.A.) Ltd., Huawei America, Shanghai Huahong International, American Sundiro, LinkAir Communications, etc. In addition, I host a radio program to answer immigration questions on Sing Tao Chinese Radio Station. From July 2001 to early September 2001, I represented Holley Group of Hangzhou in its negotiations with Philips Semiconductors to acquire Philips’ CDMA operations in Dallas and Vancouver. I participated in the negotiations, reviewed and drafted legal documents and coordinated with everyone involved to assure the project progressed smoothly. After the deals were closed till end of November 2001, I acted as Holley Communications Groups’s (HCG) Acting Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, I was responsible for all the operational matters, human resources issues, public relations, etc. I also coordinated with HCG’s Dallas and Vancouver offices, and with the Philips Semiconductors. In March 2002, I represented another Chinese company to acquire the assets of an American high-tech company. Besides practicing law, I have been actively involved in the Chinese community activities. Currently, I am the Chief Executive of Chinese Enterprise Association (CEA), a board member of and legal counsel for North America Chinese Semiconductor Association (NACSA). I was also a board member of and legal counsel for Silicon Valley Chinese Engineer Association (SCEA). On February 27, 2002, I successfully located botulism anti toxin in Germany after 11 hours' non-stop, frantic search around the world to save six people in Xinjiang, China who were dying from food poisoning. Click here to read how this miracle was made possible. In 1996, I was the Chief Negotiator on behalf of Chinese and Chinese American groups representing about 70,000 people who protested against NBC commentator Bob Costas' hostile remarks made during the Atlanta Olympics towards many international athletes, particularly Chinese athletes.
